Mujeres Cuidando Mujeres/Women Caring for Women
Women Caring for Women/Mujeres Cuidando Mujeres (MCM) is a patient navigator driven program designed to provide culturally sensitive, language appropriate breast health and cervical cancer information to low-income, underserved Latinas residing in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties.
The goal of the MCM Program is to reduce the disparities in breast and cervical cancer morbidity and mortality among low-income monolingual Latinas by providing breast health education in Spanish and assisting them to access quality screening services at no cost and without barriers.  The MCM program model seeks to increase knowledge and acceptance of gynecological health care and increase breast and cervical screening among these women by enrolling them into California^s "Every Women Counts" Cancer Detection Program.
All direct services are provided through LBCA's partnerships with St. Luke^s Hospital, San Francisco General Hospital's Avon Breast Health Center, Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, Planned Parenthood Golden Gate in San Francisco and San Mateo Medical Center in San Mateo County.
